I new to linux and I am wondering what is a good distro that can run on a intel 133 with 128mb of ram and 2.1gb harddrive. That does not eat up all my space. Would like to have GUI.

In that case, I can gladly recommend RedHat 7.1. It doesn't take up too much space, and it won't require a faster processor, while your RAM is more than enough.

about the gui, avoid gnome or kde and use a minimal wm like fluxbox, icewm or *maybe* xfce4..
btw, if you are new to linux maybe you could experiment with a non-hd distro like knoppix, or just be careful when installing linux and choosing partitions.. post your questions if you have any and we will try to help you out
