my monitor displays 4 or 5 overlapping columns of dyne;bolic after it boots.

I next used f3 to configure the video

I was instructed to enter vga= xxx, xxx being the value for how many bits of color x screen resolution. I tried all of the values w/the same result: "could not find kernal image"

I have had to configure a lot of live CDs to get rid of the overlapping columns. For example when booting Damn Small Linux I enter vga= normal, and the disply comes up as it should. I even tried vga= normal with/dynebolic w/out any success.

I am using an old ViewSonic 5E monitor.

has any body else had the same problem, and been able to fix it?
