I don't actually know what these products do, but I assume they're some sort of DVD key breaking software?
In Linux, there is libdvdcss (which, to my knowledge is legal), which is often used to crack DVD CSS keys.
There is also a program called DeCSS which does the same, except by an actual algorithm (libdvdcss apparently just brute forces it). However, DeCSS is illegal in the United States.
If I'm completely off the mark, let me know.
EDIT:
Doing a bit of research, take a look at vobcopy:

That lets you copy vob files, and it even decrypts them too. How nice!
