Where do I start?
Howdy folks. First off, let me say that I am a complete and utter noob to Linux. Now, I could sit here and ask for solutions to all of my problems, but where's the fun in that? I was wondering if there are any sources that explain in elementary detail how to go about doing basic Linux operations (i.e. installing programs, logging into root, installing drivers). Is there anything like that out there? I know all of you were at one time as incompetent as me...how did you figure out the basics? I'm currently running Red Hat "Shrike" (I think that's version 9, but I'm not sure). I've also got Mandrake 9.1. Which one do you think a neophyte like me should be using?
Thanks.
