    My cd-rw doesn't show up in /dev anymore...

    Anyone that is familiar with this?
    My system is a Gentoo-1.4-AthlonXP.

    I see it when linux boots up, but when i list /dev it doesn't exist.

    Did you just build a new kernel?
    If so, have you set it to use devfs and to automatically mount devfs on boot?

    No, i haven't rebuilt the kernel. I have emerged apache, mysql, php and Winex, but i don't see that they could be a problem.
