Crash in a machine without VGA - system console redirection?
I have a serious problem quite a long time ago: im using a Linux workstation for performing calculations, operated via ssh. Howewer, in the last one year it became very unstable - it crashes randomly while running the jobs, without any error message in any of the log files nor in the job's output file. The computer simply gets inaccessible through the LAN. After resetting it operates again, but i can't figure out why the crashes happen (possibly hardware error, but i have no chance to identify the wrong hardware without error message).
I think there is a kernel crash occuring, with some messages on the system console that are not written to log files. My question is, whether i have the possibility to redirect the system console messages to a file, for further analysis after the reboot.
Does anyone know the way how this can be done?
