unable to contact master browser
recently had a failure with samba browsing the local network
it seems that it cannot conact the master browser, even though I have two windows servers on the network. My windows boxes see the linux box but the redhat 9 cant see them. everthing was working fine. I think it all happened when I changed the hostname. from localhost to diffrent name
a. i have edited the /etc/hosts but it still gives me that stupid error unable to contact blah blah blah do you wish to log in anyways.
1. Does editing the hostname mess with the smb browsing capabilities of linux????
2. is there anything i can do to fix the browser problem.
up untill now my linux box has reigned supreme over Microshit
ohh and id like to add that SCO can kiss my arse. Im not going to pay them 700$ for linux.
