it says "permission denied"... now i am the admin and have a root password...... how can i sort it so that when ...

Root Access through TERMINAL
when i type: (in the terminal)
dir /root
it says "permission denied"... now i am the admin and have a root password...... how can i sort it so that when i type the commands it will either ask for the password, if not what can i do about accessing root directories ?

nevermind, i think i get you now
is this correct - if i type SU and then the root password, i will then have access to root directories ?

You just type that in the console.
