    Hi there

since i can't configure kernel 2.4.24 (src) in redhat 9, could I configure and compile it in mandrake (or just configure it at least) and then run the compiled kernel on redhat9?

    cheers!

    Hi,
Why can't you configure the kernel in redhat 9?
All you need to do is download the kernel source (which I believe is available using up2date).
Once you have the source, you can configure and compile till your little heart is content.
I would not suggest taking the route you suggested with mandrake.

Could be alot of your probs, then. Have you tried a non-distro specific kernel from kernel.org?
