Looking for stable desktop distro -- is CentOS a good choice?
Dear people,
To convert some non-technical friends from Windows to Linux, I need a stable desktop distro. I do not want bleeding edge. So is CentOS a good choice? Or is it only good for enterprises and is not non-technical-end-user-friendly?
Thanks.

Please note that this is a specific question about the merits of CentOS and therefore not redirectable to the FAQ, IMHO.

One of the moderators on this site did a rant/review of Centos.
While you may not get the same results that he did, it is well worth reading.

He reviews/rants about quite a few distros on his site, you should look at them. How to know if you are a geek.
