Fedora Samba authentication
I have a Samba server (running on a Suse 8.0 box) with a number of NT clients that connect to it without a problem.
In Fedora I have the option to use SMB authentication which I can configure but it doesn't work.
I have also tried connecting to a Debian Samba box with the same result.
Any ideas?

Try it without anything in the workgroup field. I ran into this problem while trying to connect to a remote printer.

but it looks like this fixed the problem I had when trying to open files on the smb shares
