    How do I make lilo to start in text mode? Right now it's in graphical mode in a red hat 8.0 system.

    I did this once and it was easy, but it was a very long time ago, and I haven't even used LILO at all in a very long time. But I _think_, that if you replace the contents of the file /boot/message with a "motd" that you wan't LILO to display, and then run lilo, you'll have text mode.
