accessing files in linux that doesnt boot
i had put files in my linux partition while reformatting and reinstalling rhl8. Now linux cant boot and xp does. I am sorting the dual boot with xp and linux in another thred and would like to know if i can access those files i had put in linux from windows xp?

well you could use explore2fs to acess you linux partition from inside windows. ext2, and ext3 filesystems supported.

also you could use you linux boot floppy and restore your MBR to boot linux, then add the windows OS to the lilo conf, or GRUB. however someone else will hopefully be ableto explain this better.
