    Illegal instruction


    Hi Everybody,

    I am using FC4.

    I am getting Illegal instruction error for some commands like rpm, and w
    commands
    #rpm
    Illegal instruction

    #w
    Illegal instruction


    Please help me to solve this.

    Do you have root permissions when you attempt these commands?

    su to become root if you hare not logged in as root. Might explain why the commands are considered illegal (lack administrator/root privileges).

    I am executing these commands with root privileges only.

    Did this happen recently, is it a new install, has it always done this?

    It is old only.
    We have been using for 2 months.
    We got this error 2 days ago.

    Did you do anything different the day that you started getting them?
