how to make a page appear on google?
i dint know where to put this post but here goes...
i have a simple website at http://nikhilk.homedns.org
i placed a met robots tag along with the content and description tags in my html file, but when i do a search on google for my name or page it doe not show up...anyone know how google's search engine works? is there anything i need to do so that on a search my page shows up as well??Fixing Unix is better than working with Windows.

One thing you can do is find a suitable category for your site on http://dmoz.org and use the Suggest URL link at the top of the page for that category. If your site is added to dmoz it'll probably help get it added to google.

It's easy. contact google and pay them some $$$. Like magic, you are at the top of the list. Even if your page doesn't really mach the seach.

You cannot buy placement from Google and dont worry about it now Google updates about once a month at the beginning of the month. Now you have placed a link to your site from this topic and when Google spiders this page (And it will) it will follow the link to your site and it will be in the index.
