    Major problems making .ISO disks

I just got a new PC with XP loaded on it. It also came with "power2go express" DVD/CD burning software which didn't have the option to make a .ISO disk.
I uninstalled that and installed Nero 6.
I downloaded the help file and it said that there is a .ISO sub-menu under "Data Disk".
I looked at it and it isn't there.
I downloaded .ISO recorder which said it is compatible with Nero and it didn't work.
Have Microsoft bugged my computer to be anti-ISO or is that just me being paranoid?
Can you help, there is no way in hell I'm going to put up with Windows forever.

Many utilities will do the job just fine.

DeepBurner Free edition for example :
