For me, neither. These types of questions have been asked countless of times and it always boils down to personal preference. Try both and you'll see which you like more. Or, do a search for reviews, there are many all over the net.

In my opinion - Mandriva.

For a kde based Debian clone, I prefer Mepis to Kubuntu because it's not as buggy. For kde based Mandriva style, I actually prefer PCLinuxOS for the Synaptic Package Manager, the polished look, and the speed.
On the same topic, I was just right about to audition Kanotix... what do others think of that distro?
- 10-27-2006 #5I used it for a few months over a year ago. I think it's one of the better Debian-based livecds. It works very nicely when installed to HD as well.

I have to say SuSE 10.1. Mandriva is completly noy installable.
