how to make pdf documents?

So this is my question.
How can i generate a pdf document?
What do i have to download?
I hope my question in not too vague. Thanks in advance.

Depends on what type of document.

OOo has a pdf button that'll do it.
For pagemaker type docs, just use scribus
For prof looking docs, then use any text editor, latex, and pdfdvim.

OOo and scribus are probably the easiest to use though.
