wifi card with monitor mode
Linksys and D-link cards are most preferrable.
i am using suse 10.1 distro. so i need a card that works on that too.
basically it should work with kismet and airsnort/aircrack etc.
There's a very good write-up of wireless chipsets at this site hosted by HP. Click on one of the links that starts "The devices, the drivers" to see thorough lists of chipsets for each 802.11 technology. There are several that are listed as supporting monitor mode (which is what airsnort needs), so find one of those whose description sounds good and has a vendor that you like.Stand up and be counted as a Linux user!
