I recently upgraded my ArchLinux system, and ran into a kernel panic error.
The error: kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
my situation: only a floppy drive to boot off of (for somereason, my dvd drive stopped working on start up, so i cant boot off of it)
everyone i talk to says how to boot off of a cd and fix it, but none know how to fix it from a floppy.

I believe you can boot Archlinux using those instructions :
http://www.archlinux.org/static/docs...tml#floppyinst
The "root floppy" they refer to can be made using this file :
ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dist...mages/root.img"To express yourself in freedom, you must die to everything of yesterday. From the 'old', you derive security; from the 'new', you gain the flow."
