Is anyone here proficient with LaTeX? There's two things I've been trying to do, but looking them up on Google hasn't helped enough. Here they are:

1) Is there a way to specify a footer? I tried using fancyhdr, but no matter what I do, it always shows this stupid line just below the header of each page.

2) Is there a way to specify a conditional, "if-like" statement? I would like to be able to control my footers very precisely, namely put specific footers on specific pages.
