    How to install Windows?

    I want to install Windows XP but when I put my Windows XP CD into the CD drive and reboot, the startup screen doesn't show anymore and everything is just black and the CD stops running (the whirring sound when it's being read). Why did this happen all of the sudden? It worked before and now it doesn't work.

    this is a *common* problem.
    boot up from Windows 98 bootable floppy and execute this
    Code:
    A:\> fdisk /mbr
    Windows Installation CD will work after this. you can download Windows 98 bootable floppy from www.bootdisk.com.
