    Samba

    hi all,
    iam facing problem while configuring samba for our network .Here's the complete scenario.
    The network consists of more than 200 terminals . now i tried to configure samba server on my linux box version 7.3 . i have tried using swat webmin and the basic smb.conf file. Now when the basic configuration is done i can only see linux share on a single machine eeven when i have not given anything in host.allow field.Second when i try ti access that linux share it asks me for user name and password even when i have given share level security. then it does'nt authenticate any of the users that i have created for samba.

    Are the following options set in the global section of your smb.conf file

    workgroup = WORKGROUP
    encrypt passwords = Yes
