Another "which distro" thread: low end PC with new Linux user
My mum's machine has:
AMD K6II 450MHz
256MB RAM
Via 3in1 generation mainboard (made by First Mainboards or FIC pro or something)
Ati Rage IIc
She has never used Linux before so I'd like to install a distro which is easy for the new user. It's currently running Win2K which was installed 6 years ago and it's going a bit funny, so a reinstall is needed I think.
I managed to run Kubuntu 7.04 live CD on it, which was a little slow (and locked up at one point) but worked for the most part.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for an easy to use distro on a low-end machine?

Kubuntu will work fine after installation. check this POLL for other options.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
