Bye Bye Linux = no computer?
I just deleted all partitions on my D:// drive (which I thought had linux on it) via XP. Now when I boot I get a grub error (error 17).
How do I get around grub so I can get to XP? When I installed Linux did it put grub on both disks? Deleting D:// should not have affected XP at all because before this incident I have never used my D:// at all.
So far I have booted from both disks and they both give me that error (pretty sure, one might give me a blank screen :/ ).
I pry walked into this problem but I am hoping that this can be fixed.
edit:// Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

did you try Windows Installation CD? boot from it, select repair and execute fixmbr.
in case, it doesn't work, download SuperGRUB CD, boot from it and select 'Fix Windows' option.
if you have Floppy Drive, you can fix this with Windows 98 Bootable Floppy too.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Unfortunately, GRUB stores some of its information on the linux partition,
so, if you delete or format that partition, GRUB is dead, and cannot boot your other
OS. Boot from the Microsoft CD. I believe there is something called a rescue
or repair console you can choose, and the commands to restore the Microsoft
bootloader are fixboot and fixmbr
