    what is the difference

    What is the difference between a . , .. and ...
    i.e. a dot,two dots and three dots

    i know a dot represents the current directory
    two dots represent the parent directory
    but what do three dots represent

    I haven't ever used three dots for anything. Can you give an example of where you saw it being used?
