I'm looking for programs that you guys could not live without. Preferrably esoteric ones, not things along the lines of gcc, bash etc. I want things that are a little off the beaten track, yet are incredibly usefull.

things like xmms, mplayer, gimp, openoffice ?
those are: music player, video player, image editing program (similar to photoshop), and document/spreadsheet etc program.
I can't live without Windows!

I can't think of much other than an editor (nano, mc), pop mail prog (evolution), IRC client (irssi), and network tools (nmap, netstat, ettercap). That's about all I HAVE to have. Oh...and a browser (Firebird, links).
Excactly what i meant. I just wanted to know what people thought were things that no linux box was complete without.

wget, ssh, xmms, mplayer, firebird, xchat, gaim, gkrellm
