Backing up (locally) Dual Boot NTFS/Linux Partitions
Yes, I'm a newbie, and yes I've done a search.
I finally have Suse 10.2 running without the need for gigs of updates after install (I though Windows was bad!) and would like to back up my entire system as I have a habit of breaking things.
WD SATA 160 gig with NTFS partition (XP), the two Linux ext3 partitions and the swap partition as a dual boot - this needs backed up.
WD SATA 160 gig / NTFS storage drive
WD IDE 160 gig / NTFS storage drive
I'll use one of the two storage drives for the images.
Here's what I'm running into:
Norton Ghost (I have 9.0) works fine for the NTFS XP partition but wants me to re-name the Linux partitions. Is this a good idea? Just a little hesitant...
PartImage claims to not be stable with NTFS - Not only am I backing up NTFS but I'm writing the image to am NTFS drive.
Ghost4Linux want to back up to an FTP server - huh? What sense does this make to someone that wants to make a backup image of their machine? I'm sure it has its place - but it doesn't appear that you can change this to copy to another hard drive (haven't installed it).
Acronis True Image - $79??
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!
