Combining bittorrent and apt-get?
Ok, maybe just curiousity getting me but I was wondering if there are any plans to integrate bittorrent as a method to download packages in apt-get. In my mind at least, this would be a win-win situation. Not only would you not need to pick your mirrors as carefully to avoid smashing a server, but the packages would arrive much quicker if you were updating a large number of linux boxes at once.
So, on to the fun stuff. Does anyone know where I can find out about this, and propose it directly to the makers of apt-get? Also, does anyone have any idea how long it would take to update all the repositories out there to support this? Any feasibility opinions are greatly apreciated.
Anyway, thanks for thinking about this idea. If anyone wants help implementing it, I would love to be of assistance.
