Crucial Radeon
Does anyone know if this is compatible with Linux?

I know that the ATI Radeon is compatible but I couldn't tell if this would work in Linux. I'd like to buy this video card since crucial is one of the companies that I very much trust. If anyone can give me pros and cons to why I shouldn't make this purchase, that too will be appreciated.

all i know is that Linux doesnt have specific drivers forthat card to optimise it. at leased i dont think.i think they have the standard RADEON drivers. 8500 Drivers and 9700 Drivers. again im not sure on this., just off the top of my head.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't use it, but on the other hand I'd be surprised if you could use it optimally. The Linux Radeon drivers aren't very good.

Can anyone recommend a good video card for under $100?

Can anyone please recommend a video card that supports 960x720 in X? I'd like to buy something that has great kernel support if possible so that the video card can be optimized.

i hear nvidea is highly supported. not posative

Nvidia linux drivers are great.

Well, that's relative. They aren't very stable, and crash for me quite often when changing display modes. And they aren't free, of course.
On the other hand, as long as they work, they work really great.

is there a good video card for linux other than nvidia cards?

Not for 3D acceleration, I think.
