Disk scan tool for linux other than fsck

Please suggest disk scan and repair tool or command for linux other than fsck command which should not cause any data loss or corrupt O/S.

Take a look at SystemRescueCD to see if it has any tools/utilities that might suit your needs:

System-tools - SystemRescueCd

I would suggest you to try tools provided by your Hard disk manufacturer too.
