i have slightly screwed filesystem
it's ext2 and it was not cleanly unmounted once. now it chks it ever time i boot. is there any way of fixing it short of reinstallation (which i figured out my self) any tools?

it should ask you to check when you boot - after you boot and check all its file systems do a clean shutdown and things should be ok.
i have done that several times already which is why i am concerned
Could you do a dumpe2fs on that partition and post the superblock data (i.e. all the data before the first empty line) back here? It just might reveal something.
