FTP problem

Hi,

I can connect to and ftp site from a windows command prompt change directory and see the file that I want to get. However, I can connect from Linux to the ftp site but I cannot see the file when I change to the directory where the file is.

Also, when I connect to the ftp site via Linux, I get the message
"Remote system type is UNIX, I get no such from the windows PC to the ftp site.

Any help?

Do you mean the command, ls, does not work to show the files present after logging in?
