If you collected the programs you're distributing for your new distro from somewhere like Sourceforge, there's a good chance all of them are GPL Licensed.

This *could* be a problem. You cannot distribute GPL and non-GPL applications for free without the express written consent of the authors of the non-GPL work. Also, you cannot take code that has been released under the GPL and then release it under a non-GPL license.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Unless you created programs yourself, all the programs you pulled from other sources will more than likely be released under the GPL already, so if all the packages distributed with your distro are GPL, your distro will be GPL.
