I am in a LAN..how can i communicaate with the other computers?
Do i have to configure SAMBA?

How do you want to "communicate" with them? Pinging is one way to communicate. If you want to use Windows file sharing, then you have to configure Samba. You can also set up FTP servers and the like.

Or ssh-servers,webb-servers...it depends on what you want to do..
