Noticed a little something while loading up a new kernel yesterday on my machine. My log files are beginning to get rather large. While it's not an issue right now as far as space is concerned, it will be down the road.
What is the normal practice when dealing with log files? Whack 'em or prune 'em?
I have had problems with this in the past, now I keep my log files on their own partition (as well as mail/news spools) just in case they get too large without my knowing. This is a good idea as far as I can tell and other people are doing it is well.
If they are too big I just remove them.. this is probably not the best practice but it allows me to get by.
