Is this normal?
OK I just reformatted my MP3 player and cleaned things up. So it's now empty, no music loaded on it. Then took a look at from Nautilus, this is what "Properties" tells me:
Player is 2GB capacity.
Contents: 7 files totalling 8.9 MB
8.9 MB used
1.8 GB free
Total capacity 1.9GB
File System MS DOS
Something doesn't add up here? 200 MB for the formatting??
What about the software for playing your collection? Is that supposed to be on a Chip? What about firmware? I know on my Sansa Fuze, when I updated the firmware, I just dropped a .bin file to the root partition and I never deleted that .bin file, perhaps yours is similar?
The software must be on chip I think. Thinking about it, it seem to make sense now much in line with the actual available space on say a 2GB flash
