open source research

Hey all,

I know this is a bit off-topic for this forum, but everyone here uses linux in some way shape or form, so I figured I'd give this a shot...

I'm writing a research paper for one of my classes about the open source community and open source projects. In particular, I want to discuss the relationship between the two and how one effects the other. I would like to use linux, among other open soruce projects, as a specific example.

What I want to know from all of you is, do any of you know of any research paper, articles, etc. that might relate to this, so I can read them and cite them in my discussion. I've done the obvious, googled, library time, etc., but I'm curious if anyone here can add extra insight that I might have overlooked.
