PC Repair Utility
I would not call myself a n00b but I am not really an "advanced" user either. But anyway my question is this: I am working on putting together a bootable flash drive for the purpose of Windows repair (i.e. malware removal, virus removal, password recovery) I am going to base it on the Trinity Resource Kit (tried to post link but got denied) however it doesn't have a dedicated Spyware scanner. So my question is this, if I throw one of the Linux Spyware scanners into it would I be able to scan the Windows directories? Any suggestion about a scanner to use and/or if there is something better than TRK would be greatly appreciated. So would random useful thoughts.
Assuming your boot flash OS supports the ntfs-3g file system, then you should have no problems also running a linux AV scanner such as ClamAV on the Windows partition of the target system. I do this all the time.
