got some angry responses last time i asked

im trying to get someone to root access my system and probe the motherboard
reason the bluetooth will not function on any linux distro i have loaded on my system
system is gateway laptop nv5214u amd athlon 64
sanji in punjabi was not very helpfull on motherboard schematics or the bluetooth adress.
Some things depend on the bluetooth adapter. I have a rocketfish adapter (Identifies as Primax Corp - Broadcom adapter) and NONE of the default tools work with it (and I have my own gripe about that, but not helpful here). The only thing that did work was the latest build of Blueman, 1.10 at the time (now it's 1.21) which I grabbed from source. It relies on the bluez library.
People are understandably nervous about accessing another system from remote. Things can become bad on several levels technical and legal. They shouldn't get angry at you though just for asking.
The typical commands we'd use to identify hardware are:
if on the PCI bus: lspci -nn
if on the USB bus: lsusb (or lsusb -v for detailed info).
Some detailed info may require you to run the commands as root/sudo.
To see what modules (drivers) are loaded: lsmod

gees the worst with remote is someone kills my bios and im sure thats difficult for all practical purposes if some screwy individual remotes my computer i will have to reinstall the os... not a big deal to me
No that is not the worse case, crashing your system should be the least of your worries. On the other hand, someone turning your machine into some kind of backdoor mass mail server with links to child porn......would you like to guess who goes to jail if your machine is identified as such a threat? I mean the people who do this kind of thing are not going to host that stuff on their own machines right? I think freely passing around the password to your system actually invites these kind of people to "help" you.
I'm another one that is always extremely reluctant to give full access to any stranger. I'm just too paranoid to allow myself to do that. :)
