Runlevels in SUSE 7.3
I installed suse 7.3 and configured it.
according to my /etc/inittab file linux must boot
in runlevel 3
# The default runlevel is defined here
but when i boot the system boots in runlevel 2
i don't know how fix this does anyone know :-?
it might try to get into runlevel 3, fail some programs and go back to runlevel 2. Did you look into that?
No it doesn't have any errors it does this
INIT: Entering runlevel: 2
Boot logging started on /dev/tty1(/dev/console) at Thu Dec 26 12:01:01 2002
Master Resource Control: previous runlevel: N, switching to runlevel: 2
but as i told in the inittab file it's configured to go into runlevel 3
do u want to see the boot.msg file?
That just seems too strange. If you tell it to enter runlevel 3, it should. Might it be that you have a duplicate initdefault line in inittab?
