I enabled the warning messages in Firefox (3.5) eg if you close multiple tabs, navigate away etc etc. Thats fine but I'm getting fed up with the drum beats every time. Anyway of turning these off?

Are you sure they are actually caused by Firefox?
I've been using it for years and have never heard it produce drumbeats. Could it be an extension that you've added causing the drumbeats, or are you running Ubuntu, and if so, could that be what's causing the drumbeats?
Good point.. maybe they're just in my head! just kidding..
They do sound like the Ubuntu drums. I had been using Ubuntu 9.04 (and by default FF3) but a week ago did a clean install of Karmic which has FF3.5. I dont see an option to disable this but will look more tomorrow..
Have a look at System -> Preferences -> Sound
Try muting the alert sound
I generally don't run Ubuntu, but have to admit that the drumbeats are always annoying to me as well. They are one of the first things to go during the initial configuration right after installation. :lol:
