Hi,
Im fairly new to linux. I currently Dual boot XP pro and FedoraCore 3 on my laptop. I would like to remove Fedora Core 3 and change to a different distro.
How should I go about doing this without messing up my XP partitions.

Pretty much every distro I've ever seen has a partitioning stage in its installer. As long as you leave your NTFS (or FAT32 if you're using it for Windows) partitions alone in the partition tool, you shouldn't have any problems.
As long as you installed XP first origionally you should be fine. Just delete all the partitions except the ntfs or win parttition. then install new ones and finish the install everything will be fine.

What will happen to the boot loader? wont it still point to the old distro?
The new distro should install a new bootloader for you :)

I will be using my new distro mainly for web developement. My hosting company's web servers run linux and my website uses PHP/mySql so I am wanting to be able to development in linux instead of windows.
Im thinking of using Debian do you think this is a good choice?
I think debian woul work as well as any other distro, for more info in distro's I'd look at http://distrowatch.org.

Do I simply DELETE that partition from win2K? What about the boot loader (grub) it looks for Fedora first and boots that instead of Windows unless I intervene.
