everybuddy is pretty good. It does all of the major ones.
irc
msn
aim
icq.
i use gaim ( gaim.sf.net ) most the time however i have recent started using kopete coz i hear its the only 1 to currently support the new msn login thing.
Speaking of the whole MSN thing, what's the latest word on that? I'm using AMSN and am still able to login, when were they supposed to cut third party access?
Gaim seems to be good enough.
I have been using ayttm for multiple IMs.
I did not know gaim was multi-protocol, I
am going to have to give that a try next.
Gaim is awsome. The new versions support xft so the pics and fonts are incredible. It sure beats Winbloze's AIM. The only thing bad about it is that the file transfer stil doens't work to well. I am able to receive files but not send them. As I am using the Debian package, it might be a problem within that but nontheless, that's the only thing that bothers me at this point. You can even put all conversations on one Window with tabs.
I just started using Kopete. It's pretty neat as soon as you get it to go :-)
I had my share of problems because I could not get MSN to go at first.
After upgrading to KDE 3.1.4 it worked fine.
I have been told that GAIM has not a solution for connecting to MSN servers now they changed things on that end.
Yes, I too heard the situation about how GAIM isn't going to support MSN chatting. Since I don't know anyone who uses that, it doesn't matter to me at all.
Gaim kicks butt. 8-)
Encyption to boot...Heh...Heh.. and lots of extra smiley's.....heee...heee..
