sh: ./vlc: not found

sh: ./vlc: not found
That´s the error I get when I try to start vlc which I've just installed.
What I did:
- Download all the dependencies I need for vlc and install them using ipkg
- Download vlc and install it using ipkg

I've installed both the dependencies and vlc on a sd card. So I cd to the directory (cd /media/card/packages/opt/bin) and then I do ls. It clearly shows me that there is a file called vlc in there. But when I try to do ./vlc, it gives me the error on the top of this page. It does the same for the dependencies I just installed (dbus) though it recognized it was installed when I installed vlc.
I'm using opie on a Zaurus sl-c750.

Any thoughts on this?

not found.. means it doesn't exists where you are.
dependency is later issue..

It's already installed and ls shows that the file exists so that's the weird thing. And the dependency dbus having the same problem (does exist, sh says it doesn't) shows that it isn't a vlc a problem, right?

Is the file marked as executable?
You may wanna try "chmod 755 vlc"

Guessing that it has FAT I have just found out all files should be executeable...

In that case shell will return "Permission Denied" not "not found!"

Ok I left vlc for what it was and installed mplayer (not on sd) and it "works". If I try to play a video file it gives me all it's information and says it's going to play it for me but then it gives me this :

fixed it! I've video now!
Only now I hear that the sound doesn't work -_-
Any ideas on how to find out what is causing this?

You are installing packages manually. Have you tried to use default package manager of your distro?

I'm using opie on a Zaurus SL-C750, that's a handheld device with no internet or bluetooth or anything like that. So a packet manager won't be much of a use here. So any ideas on debugging sound issues?
