    Basic internet connection problem


    When i tried ubuntu out on the Live cd, the internet already worked without any configuration. Now that i setup a dual boot with windows vista and ubuntu, only my windows has internet. I have a regular cable modem connected to my PC, no wireless.

    without more info it's hard to tell: when you type (as
    root) "ifconfig eth0" what does it say?

    and when pinging google, forget the "http://www" part:
    "ping google.com" is all you need

    I dont have network manager, but i went ahead and tried some more stuff.
