    I cant activate my NIC


    Im trying to create a router using my old pc, but I cant get my NIC to activate, it keeps saying "eth0 seems not to be present"

    how do I fix this?


    im using redhat9 btw

    THis is indicative of not having the driver/module installed for it.
    So you will need to either compile in the driver into the kernel or make the module for it.... and if you already made the madule for it then you need to
    Code:
     modprobe <module name>
    and then place the medule name in the proper file so it loads on boot.

    Hi there,

    With rh9 that must no be apening!

    Wat kind of NIC is it?

    If you can have a Realtek rtl8139, ethernet 10/100Mps it will be perfect, I guess, cose those are the most compatible NIC I have already instaled.

    So, post more details about the hardware configuration.
