Samba file copy between hard disks located on the same computer
I have a fedora 6 pc running a samba server. I have a windows pc that is connected on the same network and has access to the 3 hard disks of the linux pc through samba. Is it possible when I transfer a file from one hard disk to the other (both hard disks are inside the linux server) using the samba server to be able to directly copy them and not through the network. What I mean exactly is that although the hard disks are on the same computer when I copy the file it passes through the network and causes long delays. I know that one way of doing that is with remote log-in and then using cp command, but I just wonder if there is any option in samba or if there is any program that does something like that. Thank you
