    help needed , i am new at linux

    i am using linux for the first time in my life,and i can not configuare my internet connection in fedora core 6.i went to system->admin tools->network but tough i gave the ip and dns address it can not connect.it says the same ip is used by another person.i plugged my eth0 card twice in different ports.i dont know wheather this is the problem or not.and don't know what to do next.can anyont help?
