Whenever I install NVIDIA drivers coming with Debian or Ubuntu Linux crashes. It loads and all I see is black screen with some random color lines. Any ideas why? This GPU is supported by Debian for sure. I tiried Kubuntu with vesa and it worked fine but doesn't want to with nvidia.
I want drivers for 3D support and than get compiz.
I've got ASUS G1s laptop.

Try downloading the Driver from the Nvidia website, they worked flawlessly for me on Gentoo, Fedora, Ubuntu, Mepis, etc.
I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
